Cubs Soccer Tournament - 06-07-2008On Sunday 6th July, the Westerham Cubs set off to defend the trophy in the Annual 6-a-side Soccer Tournament. The clouds were dark but spirits were high as the squad, once again coached by Anthony, kicked off in their first game. The first game was a 2-0 victory against Edenbridge and this was followed by a 0 - 0 draw which put us through to the knock-out stages of the competition. Meanwhile, the howling wind and driving rain did its best to upset preparations as the Tea Stall offered its traditional menu of teas, coffees, bacon rolls and burgers. Played in constant rain, nothing could separate the two teams so extra time ensued and then penalties. After a lengthy penalty shoot out we were finally eliminated from the competition. A disappointing end to the tournament but all the boys and girls can be very proud of their performance. Well played everyone and roll on next year's tournament. We will return!
